New Nika?! @galwithnoplan
Iceland is not scandinavia
My bad! I always get it mixed up. Is it Denmark, Norway and Sweden only?
Well, the most traditional understanding of Scandinavia is usually just Denmark, Norway and Sweden. However, back in the day (when Iceland was Danish), sometimes Iceland and the Faroe Islands as well as Åland and Gotland were sometimes included in the understanding of belonging to Scandinavia. However, that is definitely not the understanding today. To make it simple today, Scandinavia is simply Denmark, Norway and Sweden and then there is the Nordic Region and it is within the definition of the Nordic Region that you may find Finland, Åland, Gotland, Iceland etc.
Very interesting! Thanks for sharing🙂

Ou cool! Didn’t notice that
Great video. I’m going to SE Asia soon and this is very helpful. Which blog pages did you find most helpful when planning your trip?
"A Brother Abroad", "Nomadic Matt", and "The Broke Backpacker" are ones I remember reading a lot!
Were there in Dec/ Jan. My 1st first memorizing trips. Bergen , Oslo , Stockholm , Denmark , Malmo , Lund. .Love all meseum s , experiencing light snow as well.
That sounds beautiful!! I’d love to go back to some of the Scandinavian countries in the winter one day😍
Love this video it was so wholesome ❤ just subscribed can’t wait to watch more x
Thank you❤️❤️
Love… love love…I was totally there in spirit. 💫I’m on my own spiritual quest and looking to find a great yoga retreat and soul tribe. 🤍🧘🏻♀️
There’s a bunch all over Central America and Southeast Asia depending on where you wanna go! They are great moments of connection and I highly recommend 🫶🏼
Ahhhhh jealous!! I was lucky enough to see her in Nashville but wish I could have seen the TTPD set! Glad you had a great time!
It was SO good! Thank you🩷 honestly I’m jealous too of people who got to see her sing more songs from the speak now era! We only got one! But wow what a fantastic show🤩
Hi! Loved your video! What hostel did you stay at in Koh Phan Ngan?
Thank you 🙂 I stayed at The Nomad House! It wasn't the best but it was alright. Total party hostel though so be warned haha
@@RoamwithRach Thanks for the quick reply! Did you hear of better ones to stay in in the area while you were there? I'll be going to the Full Moon Party in July!
@NinaTrouve-td4wk I’m not sure! Look at the reviews on hostelworld and book early and you might find some better options. I booked a month before and most were sold out haha! It gets busy each full moon party. I hope this helps and I hope you have an amazing time🙂
Hi, hope this message finds you wel. I wanted to share some tips to improve your UA-cam channel and maximize the visiblity of your content. Tips that your competition is using to get better results than you and grow their UA-cam channel.
Gorgeous ❤
How big can I push it with backpack size for carry-on? Also, can I bring two bags in Southeast Asian airlines? I have a camera backpack that is non-negotiable but because of that I need to have a second bag for clothes and other stuff. I'm deciding whether to get a duffel bag or a backpack that turns to a briefcase carry as my second bag. Thanks!
Hi! You’d have to check the rules on the airline website but for backpacks I’ve never had an issue with 40L or under. On some flights I see people bringing small duffel bags as their carry on item. You’re typically allowed on most flights to have one personal item and one carry on item. But each airline is different with their rules. Hope that helps🙂
Your hair looks amazing :)
Thank you🫶🏼
Great job editing! Favourite outfit was this sweater 8:17 you look stunning!!
Thank you so much🥰
Where are you off to next?
I’m currently on a trip! Check my instagram to see🤫
Backpacker tip to a woman: DONT DO IT!!!! The more prettier the more no no...
Lots of countries are safe to travel to for women! It all depends on your comfort level so if you're not comfortable don't do it 🙂
@@RoamwithRach i wouldnt let my female partner go. And safe is relative, even in a safe country you can run into a predator
I am a solo female and just traveled to 22 countries in the last few months. Zero problems and gained so much more confidence!
I love all your videos!! I‘m travelling to South East Asia from Mid July till End of September and I‘m slowly becoming nervous … maybe I‘ll find someone who is going there too ✨
Thank you! You will 100% meet people and make so many friends (if not in my comment section, then definitely once you are there!). Just be super friendly and don't be shy to say hello and introduce yourself. You're going to have a great time. Being nervous is just another way of being excited hehe!!
I love your travel content...keep it coming. About the plastic bags, some countries (my country Kenya, also Tanzania, Rwanda, etc.) don't allow those so I just got a small water-proof bag for swimsuits or any wet clothing I might have on a particular travel day. You can also use a dry bag too, the kind you'd use on boat trips. As for the shoes, I buy a pack of clear shower caps which are very cheap and use those to keep my shoes in. I reuse the shower caps so, not much wastage going on.
Thank you so much! And wow that’s interesting. I guess at the end of the day a reusable bag is better to have. Less waste you’re right! Thank you for watching from Kenya🙂
I’m going to Southeast Asia for the first time this fall and your videos have been SO vital to me in the research process. Not even just your Southeast Asia videos, I watch em all!! I’m also a Canadian girly so I love how relevant all your info is. Thanks for all the valuable content 💕💕💕 also your curls look phenomenal in this video!!
This was such a sweet comment to read😭 thank you so so much!! I appreciate the love on all my videos. I’m so glad they’ve been helpful. And ahhh I’m glad the curls are looking good I’ve been trying haha❤️❤️
Also, just thought, would you be able to make a video possibly about how you navigate having a job and travelling? I think you mentioned that you work part-time? But I may have heard that wrong! 😊
@@Julia-gr7rh I have a career job but I'm in a position that is extremely flexible. I also work part-time jobs when I am home for extra income. I think because my career right now is fairly unique I don't think many would be able to relate to it for a video. Maybe I can answer some questions in a future Q&A... but lets just say its hard having a career job and travelling haha! I make it work because I love travelling so so much 🙂
@@RoamwithRach good to know, thank you so much for the response!
If you’re not keeping all three shirts, my first reaction would he to say keep the brown one but I think the green would actually be more versatile. It can go with many different colored bottoms.
I caved and ended up keeping all three! Hahaha
..i wanted to shoot my shot, but then I saw the bronze king appear flexing and all outa nowhere marking his territory...
LOL
Hey Rach 🥰 How different would you say backpacking Central America was compared to Southeast Asia?
Southeast Asia was WAY cheaper overall and I could eat out every single meal versus in Central America I went to the grocery store sometimes to save money haha!
Did you take the white top you are wearing? Where is it from please ☺️ xx
No I didn’t! I don’t like to travel with white things because they tend to get dirty too easily. This tank top is from a brand called AYM 🙂
do you have an big backpacking trips planned for future? or something you wanna plan for? you have been my biggest inspiration to backpack southeast asia summer 2025! i appreciate your channel a ton❤️❤️
I’m travelling next month on a shorter trip. But I always have some trips planned hehe!! I’m so glad I inspired you to backpack Southeast Asia. That’s amazing❤️❤️ &thank you!!!
is it worth visiting thailand in june? am aware it’s rainy season but does anyone have experience with this
I know a friend who did! She said it was ok but it rained A LOT
hey queen, just went to pai for the second time and I was determined to get the cool girl tiger shirt!! I can successfully say I finally found it and it’s in blue ;) hope you had the best trip and looking forward to your future videos!! 🫶🫶
Hi girl! Omg this is the BEST comment ever haha!! We are matching now❤️ I hope you had an amazing time as well
@@RoamwithRach thank you!! also the brand of your microfiber towel is from decathlon! It’s a popular company (except for the states sadly) and I’ve bought so much from there since there are a couple stores in Thailand haha, highly recommend you check one out if you go back to Europe or Thailand!
Good to know!! Thank you🙂
You thought you packed light 😂 Thanks for the tips though
Some people bring an 80L, some people bring a suitcase. So I think this is light in relation to that, yes!🙂
@@RoamwithRach im taking a 40 for a years travelling good luck me !
what is the name of the school? I would like to do this too.
Utatlan Spanish School!
we'd love for you to try our planning platform out! instead of docs, you can create a trip that houses accommodations, things to do, transportation, etc and collaborate with your friends on it! we'd love to hear your feedback <3
This was really helpful! I'm planning to go to SEA for a year and I'm getting so excited watching your packing videos!
I’m so glad it was helpful❤️ I’ve also made vlogs when I was in SEA so that might get you extra excited hehe! I hope you have an AMAZING time travelling
Do your braless tank tops have padding? And, where’d you get them!?
No they don’t! I’ll put nipple covers on if I feel like it. I got reusable nipple covers from “nippy”. For my tank tops I get them from dynamite, aritzia, and I really like this environmental company called “AYM”
Thank you for spreading positivity 😊 I appreciate the transparency in your video! Im switching to oura ring/natural cycles after 10 years on the pill. Im nervous about the rebalancing of my hormones, do you mind sharing your experience? Thanks!
For me I didn’t notice too much of a change thankfully. My periods were heavier. I know they said it can take some time for the hormones to get out of your system when you’re starting natural cycles so be mindful of that as well. I would also recommend following some hormone experts online to see them share tips/strategies to make the process go as easily as it can🙂
How did you train for this..? I’m so scared!!
Hi Kelly! I just did extra weight training on my legs/core to strengthen them. I also tried to do extra cardio to get my endurance up. I found stairmaster and walking on the treadmill at steep inclines helpful. Try to do this for a couple months before your trip if you can. Your body will thank you haha!
Love your packing videos! I’m going on my first trip to SE Asia this fall and am binging anything packing related lol. I love that you use the eagle creek tour travel, I’m thinking of getting it but it doesn’t seem like a super popular bag. Do you still love it? Also could you please let me know where your big square packing cube that you use for your bottoms is from? 🤗
Hi Julia! Thanks so much for your kind words. I love the bag still yes! I use it on every backpacking trip I go on. I wish I could tell you where that packing cube is from but I forget I’m sorry!! It was a very long time ago I got it
@@RoamwithRach thanks for getting back to me!! No worries at all, I see MEC has one kind of similar in shape so I might give that one a shot. I was wondering also do you think you could do an updated budgeting video about how you save up for your trips? I’d love to see that, but I love all your content 🥰
I feel like I still use a lot of the tips from my last video. But if I think of anything new I’ll consider making a new one hehe! I am putting together a breakdown of how much I spent in Central America though if that helps so stay tuned for that🙂
Great video. I have to climb it next time I am in Antigua.
Thank you! You totally should. Just make sure you train before you do it. It was so hard
Whats it like traveling while on your period? Is it easy to find places where you can rinse your period underwear?
Travelling on my period is not as challenging with a menstrual cup and period underwear. Those things help a lot. I find it is easy to rinse your underwear yes! I’ll just rinse them when I can and then hang them in my bunk if I’m staying in a hostel (I try to find a place that’s private so people don’t think I’m strange hanging up my underwear haha!). The thing I’ve been struggling with lately is my menstrual cup in countries where the water is not drinkable. Because I don’t think it’s safe to clean your cup with non drinkable water. So something to be mindful of. I know some girls have told me they will boil their cup in a hostel kitchen. I feel weird doing that sometimes lol!
@@RoamwithRach omg lol!! I hadn't considered the dangers of rinsing your cup with non drinkable water but that makes so much sense! I usually use period underwear but honestly for my next big trip I'm considering just getting an iud or going on birth control just so I don't have to deal with the inconvenience of my period lmao. My first few days are just unbearable
@taxfrauddotcom yes I thought I’d mention that because so many women I talk to say they didn’t think of it! You do what’s best for you but I do know people who just use period underwear and they’re good🙂
I love your energy! you have some great tips, thank you! My partner and I are planning a 2 week Europe trip and I really really want to limit our luggage to a backpack each. He'll be easier, I'm more on your "bougie hippie" level lol
Aw I’m so glad my tips were helpful! LOL I’m glad my bougie hippie-ness is relatable
Hello Rachel, absolutely love your vlogs and your personality!! 🥰 I wanted to know what travel insurance you were using on all your trips and if you had any recommendations?
Hi Amina! Thank you so much that’s so kind of you to say🥰 I’ve used World Nomads on my last couple trips. They’re a pretty reputable travel insurance company
Loved this! Where is your long black skirt from? I really need a skirt that packs well, and it's so cute on you!
It’s from Garage! Thank you🙂
Absolutely gorgeous work my friend, panoramic views are stunning!
Thank you!!!
Your videos are so stinken helpful, I’m 18 and about to wwoof (farm) in Greece in June. I’m gonna model my packing after you!😊 thanks so much, I hope you have a lovely time in Central America🫶🏾

can't wait for your guate vids
Thank you!! That’s coming on Sunday🤩
wow! for two months trip this is crazy
You should watch my Southeast Asia packing video! For that trip it was almost 4 months haha you can do a lot with just a little. Backpacking makes you realize you don’t need a lot🙂
just found your channel today! plan to do solo trip next april in Thailand as a female, kinda scared. your title hooked me right in
Hello! You’re going to have such a fantastic time. It’s good to do things that scare you, just keep your wits about you and you’ll be good. Thailand is very well travelled and I’d say pretty safe. I had a great time when I went🙂
Do u need an international drivers license to drive the scooters?
Maybe technically you do, but nobody really checks that in Thailand! Be safe though, this is how a lot of backpackers get serious injuries
Hi, thanks a lot for your video! Could you please tell me in which season (which months) were you in Vietnam, especially in the North Vietnam? Thanks!
Hi! Thanks for watching🙂 I was in North Vietnam in February. It’s definitely warmer there in the summer months. However, if you’re backpacking Southeast Asia the summer, that is their raining season so be aware of that. That’s why I chose to backpack Jan-April
@@RoamwithRach Thanks a lot for your quick answer! 😊 We are going in March/April, so I was wondering how much long trousers and warm clothes do I need...
@KristynaU you’re going to have so much fun! Yes maybe bring a pair or two of pants and sweaters. You can always buy some jackets there if needed like I did. They have cool “made in Vietnam” stores with active outdoor clothes
I would love love love a video on how you specifically plan your trips!! If you haven’t made it already ¨̮ great video, thanks!!
Hi! Yes I already made a video it’s called “how to plan a trip”. I go into detail about how I do it all. If you go to my channel page I think it’s featured on there so that might be an easy way to find it🙂 cheers!
I'm late to the party lol, but I've been using a menstrual cup for years. I'm going backpacking and I'm wondering how you sterilize your cup when you're travelling? Not planning on bringing a saucepan in my 40L pack ahahh. Been loving your travel videos by the way<3
Hi Anna! Thank you❤️ Omg so this was actually very hard in some countries as I couldn’t even clean it in the sink with the countries water. Sometimes I just had to cave and use tampons BUT recently I’ve been talking to some friends who said they use a special soap that’s made for menstrual cups. I’ve also heard about people using bottled water with sterilizing tablets
